SS7 Signalling Gateway

Bridge your IP-based telecom infrastructure to legacy SS7 PSTN and GSM networks using the MOBITELSMS SS7 gateway. Full MAP, ISUP, SCCP, TCAP, MTP3, M3UA, and SCTP stack — enabling SMS delivery via HLR lookup, voice interconnect with PSTN carriers, and mobility management for MVNO deployments.

The Backbone of Global Telecommunications

SS7 (Signalling System No. 7) is the protocol suite that interconnects the world's telephone networks — managing call setup, SMS routing, subscriber location, and roaming. Despite being developed in the 1970s, SS7 remains essential for interoperating with traditional PSTN and GSM networks. The MOBITELSMS SS7 gateway encapsulates SS7 over SIGTRAN (M3UA/SCCP) and presents a modern API for SMS delivery, HLR queries, and voice signalling.

SS7 Gateway Capabilities

MAP SMS (MO & MT)
Send and receive SMS via GSM MAP protocol — Mobile Originated (MO-Forward-SM) and Mobile Terminated (MT-Forward-SM). Direct integration with the MOBITELSMS SMS routing layer bridges MAP to SMPP and HTTP API delivery.
HLR Queries
Send-Routing-Info (SRI) queries to any HLR for number portability resolution, subscriber status checks, and IMSI retrieval. Used for LNP, pre-routing validation, and anti-fraud screening before SMS and voice delivery.
ISUP Voice Signalling
ISUP (ISDN User Part) enables voice call setup and teardown with PSTN carriers over SS7 links. IAM, ACM, ANM, REL/RLC message handling with full cause code mapping to SIP response codes via the SIP-T gateway layer.
Full SIGTRAN Stack
M3UA over SCTP with multi-homing for link redundancy. SCCP Class 0/1 connectionless transport. TCAP dialogue management for MAP and CAP operations. Configurable point codes, subsystem numbers, and routing contexts.
SMPP Bridge
Inbound MAP SMS messages are automatically converted to SMPP DELIVER_SM and pushed to the platform's SMPP server. Outbound SMS routed via SS7 appear as standard SUBMIT_SM responses to applications — no MAP coding required.
CDR & Billing
Every MAP operation and ISUP call generates a CDR written to the platform's billing pipeline. SS7-originated SMS and voice traffic shares the same balance deduction and reporting infrastructure as SMPP and SIP traffic.
