A 3GPP-compliant Diameter Online Charging System that performs real-time credit control for voice, data, and SMS sessions on 4G LTE and 5G networks. Gy/Ro credit control grants and terminates service based on subscriber balance, while Gx enforces traffic policy rules from the PCRF in real time.
When a subscriber initiates a data session or voice call, the P-GW (4G) or SMF (5G) sends a Diameter Credit-Control-Request (CCR) to the OCS. The OCS checks the subscriber's balance, grants a service unit quota (time, bytes, or events), and returns a Credit-Control-Answer (CCA). The network enforces the quota; when exhausted, another CCR triggers additional grant or session termination. Concurrently, Gx enforces QoS and policy rules pushed from the PCRF.
